The first phone with a completely transparent keypad will be for sale in Europe in two months. That what the phone's fabricator LG announced. LG first showed off this new model last month and they have now come up with some of the details about the phone's functionality and specs.

The GD900 will have a sliding alphanumeric keypad at the bottom side of the Machine, but the key to this keypad is that it's completely transparent. This transparent keypad is not only meant for plain numbers and symbols but will also function as a full featured toutchpad. The toutchpad can then move a cursor around the screen which of course can be usefull for a lot of scenario's like browsing the web for instance. The transparent screen would be capable of displaying lots of other functions says LG on their Korean website. LG claims this phone will be the first ever to have a transparent keypad.
Further details show a 3"-touchscreen with multi-touch support and the phone will contain the ever so popular S-Class-Interface which featured on LG's latest flagship the LG Arena, which managed to deliver over a million phones to stores around the world before it was even sold. The S-Class-Interface is designed to make the touchscreen phones easier to handle and it reminds many people of the iPhone interface.
The GD900 will be available in Europe in May, LG hasn't assigned a price tag for their latest phone. The phone was first seen at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month, but at that time the phone was still behind glass because the hard- as well as the software wasn't finished yet.
